Chicken Paprikash
Our love letter to Cleveland. Hungarian immigrants brought paprikash to this city generations ago and it became woven into our culinary identity. Rich, creamy, paprika-forward, and deeply satisfying, this is one of our most beloved blends and one of our bestsellers.
What You'll Need
2 lbs chicken · 1 cup water · 1/2 cup sour cream
Suggested Pairings
Egg noodles, spatzle, pierogi, or mashed potatoes and always extra sour cream on top
Great For
Cleveland comfort nights, honoring Hungarian heritage, Sunday dinners, cold weather, impressing guests
Crockpot Directions
Place chicken in crockpot. Add water and the packet. Lightly salt if desired. Cover. Cook. When chicken is tender, shred in the crockpot. Stir in sour cream before serving. Serve over egg noodles, spatzle, or pierogi.
Alternative Cooking Method
Stovetop: Brown chicken in oil in a large skillet. Add water and packet. Cover and simmer 35-40 minutes until cooked through. Shred chicken, stir in sour cream, and serve over egg noodles.

Make It Traditional
Use bone-in skin-on chicken thighs for the most authentic, deeply flavored version of this Cleveland classic.
Make It With Pierogi
Serve over pan-fried potato and cheese pierogi instead of egg noodles for the ultimate Cleveland comfort meal.
Make It Richer
Stir in a tablespoon of tomato paste with the water for a deeper, more complex sauce with beautiful color.
Make It Lighter
Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version with the same creamy tangy finish.
