Cleveland comfort nights, Sunday dinners, cold weather, the whole family

Crockpot Directions

Place chicken in crockpot. Add the packet, water, and salt if desired. Stir. Cover. Cook. During the last hour, add the frozen mixed vegetables. Serve hot over pierogi, biscuits, or mashed potatoes.

Alternative Cooking Method

Stovetop: Whisk packet into 2 cups water in a large skillet or pot. Add 2 lbs diced chicken. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring often. Cover and cook 12–15 minutes, until chicken is cooked through. Stir in 1 (16 oz) bag frozen mixed vegetables. Simmer 8–10 minutes more, stirring often, until thickened. Serve hot over pierogi, biscuits, or mashed potatoes.

All-purpose flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), nonfat milk powder (nonfat dry milk, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin D3), chicken soup base (salt, dextrose, hydrolyzed corn protein, onion powder, turmeric [color], cornstarch, monosodium glutamate, tricalcium phosphate [free flowing agent], natural and artificial flavors), corn starch, granulated onion, granulated garlic, ground black pepper, parsley, minced onion, thyme, basil

Dietary marks reflect the blend only — not added ingredients called for in packet instructions. Always check the full recipe on the packet before cooking.

Ladle over pan-fried potato and cheese pierogi for the most Cleveland version of this dish imaginable.

Make It a Biscuit Bake

Pour filling into a baking dish, drop biscuit dough on top, and bake at 375°F for 20 minutes until golden.

Make Individual Pies

Ladle filling into ramekins, top each with a round of puff pastry, and bake at 400°F for 15 minutes.

Add More Vegetables

Add diced potatoes and green beans at the start for an even heartier, more vegetable-packed filling.
